The Blue Front Blues team transform the Miner’s Carriage Room restaurant into the steamy atmosphere of a Mississippi jook joint. Since March 2002, The Miners Arms in Whitecroft has become an internationally known acoustic Blues venue. The Blues team have welcomed over 150 artistes featuring top-notch British and US acoustic performers of varied genres – anything from blues to bluegrass.
Over the years the Blue Front has hosted acts as varied as Big Bill Morganfield, Louisiana Red, guitar maestros Bob Brozman and Tony McPhee and folk guitarist John Renbourn. Named after the Blue Front Café, a jook joint in Bentonia, Mississippi and run on a not-for-profit basis, the club has a membership of over 1600, regularly attracting audiences from the Forest, Cheltenham, Gloucester, Hereford, Bristol, Bath, Newport, the Valleys and further afield.

The club gigs take place on a Monday night on a monthly basis from autumn to spring. Entry is by tickets – usually costing between £6 and £10 to cover artists’ fees. Doors open at 7.45pm for an 8.30pm start.
