The Pub Now
The Pub Then!
A stream borders the Miners Cottage and one side of the big beer garden, runs the river Lyd. The smaller beer garden is adjacent to the scenic Dean Forest Railway. The steam trains always give us a ‘toot’ and a wave when they pass by.
Picturesque pathways for walkers and cyclists surround the pub and many Forest visitor attractions such as ‘Go Ape!’ and Clearwell Caves are just minutes away.
The pub consists of a 'regulars' bar, home to the quoits table, what is known as the 'bottom' bar by the main car park entrance that has a newly built conservatory attached to it. There are two garden areas, one at the end of the car park adjacent to the river Lyd, the seated patio area and a water meadow; the other at the back of the pub adjacent to the skittle alley and Dean Forest Railway. This has a purpose built, heated wooden smoking shelter.
