Real Ales On Tap!
As you can tell at the Miners Arms we are not only passionate about our ciders and perrys but equally obsessed with our real ales. We have a regular, loyal and discerning customer base that know their beer and will not hesitate in letting me (Mario) know their opinion of each and every one of them! It is rare for us to stock more than a firkin of each at a time. This means fresh good beer! We try to have a broad ABV range although in the summer it may stay medium in strength so we can drink more of it! There will always be something on one of our 4 real ale pumps to suite all tastes.Favourites include: Dorothy Goodbody’s Golden Ale, Butcombe Bitter, Marstons Pedigree and Banks bitters. We have 5 pumps always on the go. Here are some of the brews either on now just off or about to go on at the inn! Where possible we have linked you to the brewers web-sites so you can find out more about their beers!

Tasting Notes: Epitomising the brewer’s art, Wychcraft blends into the cauldron a hat full at pale barley, and pinch of Cara malt. Once bubbled up with three infusions of Styrian Golding hops, a potion of mystical dry biscuit flavour is conjured with an extravagant burst of citrus aroma. Ritual defiance to anyone questioning the loss of craft brewing.

Sharp's Brewery
Sharp's Own 4.4% ABV
Own features sweet roasted notes and is very full in the mouth making it the perfect partner for a cheeseboard. It goes particularly well with strong blue cheeses like stilton. Sharp's Own is also well suited to use in or accompanying beef or game stews or pies.
Sharp's Special 5.2% ABV
Special is the sweetest and most alcoholic of all the range. The sweetness complements most deserts and most especially those with a good measure of sugar such as treacle puddings and stewed fruits. The sweet roasted aroma also make Special perfect with creamy and rich cheeses.
"Hops dominate the aroma of Eden Pure Ale complimented by the light fruit esters. In the mouth again hops are the centerpiece with dry bitterness and a hint of malty sweetness. The finish is dry and hoppy serving to stimulate and refresh the palate."
"The aroma of Doom Bar is an accomplished balance of spicy resinous hop, inviting sweet malt and delicate roasted notes. The mouth feel is a perfectly balance and complex blend of succulent dried fruit, lightly roasted malty notes and a subtle yet assertive bitterness. The bitterness remains into the finish with dry fruity notes which implore the drinker to go back for more."

Whittingtons Brewery - Pauntley Boy 4.3%
Whittingtons Brewery was established in early 2003 as part of the Three Choirs estate, which is set in 75 acres of rolling vineyards in the Gloucestershire countryside. The brewery is named after one of Gloucestershire's most famous sons, Dick Whittington. Legend has it that Dick was born in the hamlet of Pauntley, near to the site of the vineyard, and lived in nearby Gloucester before embarking on his adventurous life in London. Our beer names concentrate on Whittington's cat, Puss, who became as famous as Dick Whittington himself!
